Our Story

Our story began with a feeling familiar to many students: being completely overwhelmed. As a first-generation student, our founder Evelyn stared at a graduate school application that felt like it was written in another language. She had the drive but lacked a clear roadmap, and the imposter syndrome was overwhelming. She spent months piecing together a plan from online forums and sheer trial and error.

The “aha” moment came after she was finally accepted into her dream master’s program. The primary feeling wasn’t just relief, it was mixed with frustration. She thought, “It should not be this hard.” She realized that so many brilliant students were being left behind simply because they couldn’t access the right guidance. She saw ambitious community college students who didn’t know how to transfer, and unfulfilled professionals who wanted to change careers but didn’t know how. The Undergrad Compass was founded to be the guide she never had, a service dedicated to providing the strategic clarity that turns academic anxiety into an actionable plan.
